When you start a new job and want to get off on the right foot with colleagues. When you join a new lacrosse team or theatrical ensemble. When you start taking a new class and want to get along with your classmates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rapport-building is an incredibly useful skill.<\/b> So today, we are going to talk about how to build rapport.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Is Rapport and Why Does Building Rapport Matter?<\/b><\/h2>\n

One’s ability to build rapport is their ability to form strong, functional relationships<\/span>.<\/b> This skill can benefit you in every part of life! Even if you’re a master of ceremonies<\/a> or not.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Building rapport with people will <\/span>help them trust you.<\/b> They will be more likely to stick their neck out for you because they value your relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, your boss assigns you a terribly unwieldy task. It’s not built for one person to do. <\/span>Because you’ve built mutual trust with colleagues,<\/b> however, a group of them volunteer to help.<\/span><\/p>\n

Or perhaps you are looking for someone to write you a recommendation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Luckily, you have <\/span>built personal relationships with the people who went to the same<\/b> college<\/b><\/a> as you.<\/b> Upon asking, all of them are more than willing to write you a glowing recommendation.<\/span><\/p>\n
